The LCU - Banking App is now available

General

How do I update/download the LCU - Banking App?

Simply head to the App Store or the Google Play Store to update to the latest version or download it today if you’re a first time user.

 

Do I need to be registered for Internet Banking?

Yes. You will need to be registered for Internet Banking before being able to use the banking app. You will need to know your member number & internet banking password to register for the banking app. If you have not registered for Internet Banking, please contact us.

 

How do I register the banking app?

Once you’ve downloaded the banking app, you’ll be prompted to enter your member number and existing internet banking password. You will then be prompted to setup your 4 to 6 digit passcode or pattern (FaceID available for iPhone X and later) before the banking app will be ready to use.

 

Is there a fee for using the app?

No, the app is free to use and download, however, your standard mobile phone service and data charges will apply.

 

What devices are compatible with the banking app?

Our banking app is supported for use on Android (Lollipop version 5.0 or above) and Apple (iOS 6.0 or above).

It is important to keep your banking app up to date to ensure you’re able to access the full range of features, as well as any upcoming enhancements coming down the track.

 

How many devices can I register the app on?

You can register the banking app on up to five devices.

 

Can I access my monthly or quarterly statements through the app?

No, these are only available in Internet Banking.

 

Cards

How do I block and unblock a card?

If you've misplaced your card but don't want it cancelled you can now block it through the app.

Instructions on how to block your card are as follows:

On the bottom navigation panel of the app, tap “CARDS”

Use the slider next to the words “YOUR CARD IS UNLOCKED”. Slide it to the right and then tap “CONFIRM” on the dialogue that appears to lock your card. (If you have multiple cards, swipe left or right to the card you want to block or unblock)

If you do find your misplaced card, you can unlock the card through the banking app using the same steps above, use the slider again and then tap “CONFIRM” to unlock.

 

How to report a card lost or stolen?

You can report a lost or stolen card through the app using the following steps:

On the bottom navigation panel of the app, tap “CARDS”

Tap on “LOST OR STOLEN CARD” from the list of options. (If you have multiple cards, swipe left or right to the card you want to report lost/stolen)

On the next screen tap lost or stolen

A confirmation dialogue box will be displayed. Tap on “CONFIRM” to proceed with reporting the card as lost or stolen.

NOTE:   This cannot be reversed, once you tap “CONFIRM” your card will be permanently cancelled. If you are unsure, lock the card until you are sure that you need to cancel it.

 

If I have a new card, can I activate it through the app?

Yes. Once you receive your new card you will be able to activate it within the app.

A greyed out image of the card will appear in the app once the card has been created which has an option to Activate below. Please allow up to 30 minutes for the activation to be processed and the status of the card to change.

 

Can I order a replacement card?

Yes. When you report a card as lost you will have the option to order a replacement.

From the cards screen select “LOST OR STOLEN CARD” and then follow the prompts to confirm your mailing address. The new card will be posted directly to you and the assigned PIN will be posted to LCU. Once you have received your card you can select your own PIN. Please refer to the next paragraph. If you are unable to select your own PIN, please contact LCU. 

 

How can I change my PIN?

Underneath any active card you will see the option "CHANGE PIN", tap this, enter and then confirm your new PIN and then tap "GET SMS" and enter the code sent to your registered mobile number. Please note: you may have to wait up to 30 minutes after activating a brand new card for the "CHANGE PIN" option to appear.

 

Making Transactions

How do I setup a recurring payment?

Login to your LCU Banking App and from the home screen, select “TRANSFER”.

Select the transfer type you would like to make: ‘BETWEEN ACCOUNTS’, ‘PAY OTHERS’ or ‘BPAY’

Enter the payment details (amount and recipient) and tap the option in the “WHEN” field.

Tap “SETUP RECURRING PAYMENTS”

Set the start date

Choose your payment frequency

Set End Date or Number of Payments if required

Confirm the details of the recurring payments are correct

Tap “OK” to set the payment up

 

How do I setup a scheduled payment?

Login to your Laboratories Credit Union app

Select the transfer type you would like to make: “BETWEEN ACCOUNTS”, “PAY OTHERS” or “BPAY”

Enter the payment details (amount and recipient) and tap the option in the “WHEN” field.

Tap “PAY ONCE ON”

Choose a date

Confirm the details of the payment are correct

Tap “OK” to set the payment up

 

How do I change a scheduled/recurring payment?

You can change your scheduled or recurring payments at any time by selecting the “FUTURE PAYMENTS” option from the Payments menu.

You will see a listing of all the scheduled and recurring payments you have set up, and by taping on the icon next to a payment, you can edit any of the payment details. (swipe left on iOS)

 

Can I make transfers to other accounts using the banking app?

Yes. You can access all payments functions by choosing the “TRANSFER” option from the home screen. This will take you to the Payments screen.  

 

To pay other accounts using a BSB & Account Number or a PayID

Choose the “PAY OTHERS” option and either select an existing payee or press the + to create a new one. (IOS select “ADD NEW” in the top right corner)

After selecting or creating a new payee, select the transfer type (will appear if Osko is available), enter the amount you wish to pay, an optional reference (one for you and one for the payee), when you wish the payment to occur, and then select “OK”

You will now see a confirmation screen – double check the details you have entered and when sure you are ready to proceed, select “OK”

 

To pay a bill using BPAY

Select “BPAY” from the Payments screen and either select an existing payee or press the + to create a new one. (IOS select “ADD NEW” in the top right corner)

Enter the amount you wish to pay, when you wish the payment to occur, and then select “OK”

You will now see a confirmation screen – double check the details you have entered and when sure you are ready to proceed, select “OK”    

To make transfers between your own accounts with Laboratories Credit Union,

Select “BETWEEN ACCOUNTS” from the Payments screen and choose the Transfer From and Transfer To accounts.

Enter the amount you wish to pay, a reference if desired, when you wish the payment to occur, and then select “OK”

You will now see a confirmation screen – double check the details you have entered and when sure you are ready to proceed, select “OK”

 

PayID

What is a PayID?

A PayID is something easy to remember, like a phone number, email address or an ABN that you can securely link to your banking accounts. Then when you want somebody to transfer funds into your account, you can give them your PayID instead of your BSB and account number.

 

How do I register a PayID?

From the Payments screen, select “PayID”, press the + (IOS select “ADD NEW” in the top right corner), then follow the prompts to register your mobile number or email address.

Business clients will need to contact LCU to register a PayID.

 

How does a PayID work?

Once you have registered a PayID, Laboratories Credit Union will then link that to your bank account so it acts like a ‘pointer’ to your account. Then when someone wants to pay you, just give them your PayID. If that person banks with an institution that doesn’t offer PayID yet, they can still pay you using your BSB and account number.

 

How do I maintain my PayID?

Via any of your banking channels including Internet Banking, Mobile Banking & the LCU – Banking App.

 

 How do I edit my PayID that is assigned to an account with my other bank?

You will need to get in touch with your other bank to have the PayID association removed, as only they can authorise such a change.

 

 How do I edit my PayID that is assigned to my partner?

You will need to get your partner to initiate the change with Laboratories Credit Union in order for it to become available for you to assign by selecting asking your partner to action the following (from their own Internet Banking or LCU – Banking App login)

Select “PayID” from the Payments screen, selecting the desired PayID, and then change the status to Closed. If on our system as a contact detail for your own client, it will now appear as an option when you attempt to register the PayID from your login.

 

How many accounts can I link my PayID to?

A PayID can only be linked to one account at any given time.

 

Can I have multiple PayIDs linked to the same account number?

Yes, multiple PayID types can be linked to the same account. For example, you could link an email PayID and a phone number PayID to the same account.

 

Can I have multiple PayIDs with different financial institutions?

Yes. You can link different PayIDs to different accounts at different financial institutions. You will need to check with those financial institutions which PayID types they support.

 

Are PayID payments secure?

PayID payments use the same very high level of security that protects your existing bank accounts payments.

 

Is it safe to share my PayID with anyone?

When you give a person your PayID, they cannot use it to withdraw money from your account. When they use it in their own participating online or mobile banking to pay you, the only information they will see is the name you have selected to describe that PayID, such as your own name or the name of your business. A PayID on its own cannot be used to create a false identity.

 

If someone knows my PayID, can they access my bank account or personal details?

When a person uses your PayID to pay you, the only information they will see is the name you have selected to describe that PayID, such as your own name or the name of your business. A person with your PayID cannot access your bank account or personal information linked to your account.

 

Can a person link my PayID to their account?

No. To register a PayID – a verification code sent to the email or phone number being registered must be entered to complete the registration. If you suspect somebody may have gained access to one or both of these, please contact us.

 

  First Time Setup

The first time you install the app you will be asked to enter your current MyViewpoint (MVP) internet banking credentials (Member Number & Password).

You'll then set a PIN, Pattern, or FaceID (supported devices only) which you can use to login to the app going forward.

If you forget this new login, simply hit forgot login (located in the top right corner) and it will challenge you to enter your MVP credentials once more to reset your PIN, Pattern or FaceID.
