NetTeller Update
On Wednesday, 3rd August 2011, LCU will be converting to an updated version of NetTeller Internet Banking. This will mean that NetTeller will not be available from 9.30 am on 3rd August 2011 for a period of approximately two hours.
Increased security is a major feature of this update. Two factor authentication will be required when you add a new BPAY biller or a new BSB and account number. It will be necessary for you to either register for SMS Security or have an additional Transaction Authentication password.
With SMS Security, you load your mobile phone number into NetTeller and when a new BPAY or External Transfer is required, an SMS is sent containing a one-time password. You enter this password and the transaction will be permitted.
In response to member feedback, we have reviewed the charging of fees in relation to SMS one-time passwords. We previously advised that each SMS would attract a fee of 29 cents. LCU will now allow five free SMS alerts or SMS one-time passwords per calendar month. A fee of 29 cents will be charged for SMS sent in excess of 5 per month.
An alternative to SMS security is to have LCU load a Transaction Authentication password. This means that you will have to remember 2 passwords – one for logging in to NetTeller, and one for performing new BPAYs and External Transfers. Please call us at LCU on 9859-0585 or 9859-0533 to have your Transaction Authentication password loaded.
Cosmetic modifications have also been made to rejuvenate the internet banking interface. These modifications include a new vertical menu utilising a show/hide function, quick links horizontal menu option for frequently used functions, prominent placement of print/logout buttons and clearer account listing and balance displays.
Account names can be personalised (e.g. my bills account), you can mask an account number when it is displayed within internet banking, or you can hide an account so it is not displayed. NetTeller now supports the OFX download format. The file can be saved on your local PC for importing into a third party application such as QuickBooks.
